Order an Acute Prescription

If you, or a member of your family has an illness for which they need medication as and when required, please telephone your GPs receptionist.

If you phone

before 10.30 am and the doctor is able to issue a prescription it will be left at reception ready for collection after 12.30pm the same day.
after 10.30am and the doctor is able to issue a prescription it will be left at reception ready for collection after 5.00pm the same day.

The receptionists will need to take some detailed information from you to pass on to the doctor to enable him/her to prescribe the most suitable medication.

The receptionist may ask you to phone back to check if the doctor has been able to do a prescription.

There may be occasions when the doctor will phone you to ask for the patient's symptoms to enable him/her to make a correct diagnosis.
